JOB DESCRIPTION :
1. Communicates and collaborates with the Kitchen crew to plan well-balanced daily food preparation with minimal food waste
2. Assists with managing all incoming and outgoing food. Weighs and logs all incoming/outgoing food and records on tracking form.
3. Ensures all incoming food is correctly stored in appropriate location (Chiller, Freezer, Cabinet, Store) using FIFO, and maintains continuous inventory of food and supplies; Reports shortages to Kitchen Supervisor/Shift Officer/Café Manager.
4. Assists with the preparation and cooking of food, including food for special events, when assigned.
5. Ensures quality and presentation of every meal served to customer.
6. Maintains cleanliness in the kitchen, CAYG - work area, food preparation area, chiller, freezer, cabinet and store.
7. Ensures all kitchen equipment is operating properly and is used properly to ensure safety in the kitchen.
